Urban Nights, September 14

September 16, 2012

Twice a year, Urban Nights inhabits the streets of downtown Dayton with dance, music, activities, art, food, and performance.  This September’s event brought a phenomenal crowd to the city, and the creative energy was vibrant from Riverscape to Courthouse Square to the Oregon District.

A huge kudos to the “You Are Here” project organized by the Tech Arts Collaborative.  Video projections on the facade of the Old Courthouse building and spoken word performances created a dynamic presence downtown.

Chris Shea of Free Shakespeare recites new work.

Landon Crowell’s sculptural works were on view, along with paintings by Ryan McCullough (below), at the Southern Belle.

David Kirchner, a ceramic artist, demos his work at his gallery at the St. Clair lofts.

Charlotte Gordon exhibits her ceramic works at Blue Sky Projects gallery.

Sew Dayton opened its doors, with tons of vintage fabrics and sewing accessories.  Another grand opening for Brim will ensure that Daytonians have the most stylish head wear and fashion direction.
