The Last Supper: 600 Plates Illustrating Final Meals of U.S. Death Row Inmates
Dayton Art Institute
February – April 2015
Julie Green’s series The Last Supper – Final Meals of U.S. Death Row Inmates features final meal requests from hundreds of death row inmates. Painted in blue glazes and fired on ceramic plates, each meal request is an image, date and state visually immortalized.
The exhibition was initiated by former Dayton Art Institute Director Jane Black and curated by University of Dayton Professor Judith Huacuja for Rites. Rights. Writes., a year-long series of Human Rights programs at the University.
