HWD 2014 at Rosewood Gallery

Featuring sculpture from Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, Michigan, Pennsylvania and West Virginia, this year’s HWD Regional Sculpture Exhibition is an incredible variety of materials, techniques and concepts.

Juried by Carrie Longley, Assistant Professor of Fine Arts at Indiana University East, the selection features over 25 artists and thirty artworks. “I’m drawn to the works which feature unique combinations of the familiar and imagined,” wrote Longley. “With much of the work, the use of familiar materials or repurposed objects such as wood, steel, ceramics, even shag carpet initially captured my attention, while the imagined aspects encouraged me to further investigate, admire and wonder.”

Artist awards, sponsored by United Art and Education, were given to Nathaniel Foley for “Three and One Wings,” Christy Wittmer and Julia Sebastian’s “there, there,” and Tyler Bohm’s “Ur.”  HWD is on view through September 26 at Rosewood Gallery.  More information can be found at hwd.ketteringoh.org.
